This session takes a different view of how we prevent deteriorations in our airborne patients, and how we can learn from the lessons of others or, indeed, from our own previous experience . The content will cover a significant and obvious resource that will have a noticeable impact on patient safety – Learning from Errors, Mishaps and Other Near Situations. Our focus will be on tools that we can build in order to tap into our past experiences and those of others, both inside and outside of our own air ambulance services.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participant will be able detect and respond to threats and mistakes that are most likely to occur during flight operations.
Upon completion, participant will be able to prepare a risk analysis
Upon completion,participant will be able to stratify risk levels ,manage each specific risk ,form the basis of the individual patient’s mission transfer management plan.
