This session will discuss why this patient population is unique and may be high-risk for aggression during transport and introduce a multidisciplinary approach to developing a patient-specific transport plan, discuss medication considerations and mitigation strategies with patient involvement in the care plan and more.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be able to identify pediatric patients at high risk for an aggressive event during a long air transport
Upon completion, participants will be able to name several different non-pharmacological strategies to mitigate acute aggression during air transport of a pediatric psychiatric patient
Upon completion, participants will be able to prepare the aircraft, themselves, and the patient to ensure safety of all crew members and the patient during a pediatric high-risk psychiatric transport
