EMS responders are often called to the scene of an emergency - but what happens when we are called to respond to our own? In this presentation, Krista Haugen and Matt Philbrick discuss the best practices learned from responding to catastrophic events in the Air Medical industry. Krista and Matt have worked together on several aircraft crash responses and will share firsthand accounts of working directly with survivors, along with key takeaways when working with EMS/air medical teams in times of crisis. Concepts in risk mitigation, preparing for incidents/accidents, how to create an effective response, along with setting the trajectory for healthy recovery, will also be discussed.
