This presentation describes the incidence of traumatic cardiac arrest, the pathophysiology, as well as the evidence (or lack there of) behind current practices. The presentation then dissects traumatic resuscitation dogma, the evidence behind these practices and offers newer resuscitation approaches based on the most recent literature. Lastly, this presentation discusses recently published international guidelines with a hope to change EMS practice and allow providers to better understand how to treat this complex disease process.
