Delivering Virtual Care in Rural and Remote Settings

From bed side to transport environments, STARS Virtual Care uses the internationally established GoodSam application to deliver “Critical Care, Anywhere”. Using a platform agnostic application on providers mobile phones, STARS VC enables rapid, live video feed from anywhere a cellular signal can reach. By linking rural care providers with consultants in urban tertiary care hospitals, STARS VC was designed to not only to support care delivery, but also improve the utilization of HEMS resources. This presentation will outline the use cases explored by STARS VC and offer an opportunity to discussion implementation challenges and lessons.
