David Watson initially certified as a New York State Paramedic in 1987 and worked as a 911/ critical care transport paramedic until 2005. He passed the NCLEX that fall and began working as an emergency department registered nurse. After 10 years in various ED’s in New York, Vermont and Florida, where he trained into the trauma service of a 500 bed level 2 trauma center, he began work in 2015 as a flight nurse on the Critical Care Transport Team at a children’s hospital in Orlando. In that position, he cross-trained to staff NICU, PICU and pediatric CVICU. In 2002, he left the children’s hospital to help start the NeoPeds Specialty Care Transport Team at MedHealth Partners. In his current position, he cares for patients across the age spectrum in fixed-wing air ambulances throuhout North America. David continues to maintain certification as a Nationally Registered Paramedic, as well as Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN) and Certification in Neonatal and Pediatric Transport (C-NPT).
