When Jet A and O2 Aren't Enough: Transporting Inhaled Agents

This presentation will compare and contrast inhaled prosotocyclins such as Flolan and Veletri with inhaled Nitric Oxide. It will also focus on the logistics and complexity of these agents as well as aviation specific precautions such PPE requirements secondary to mucosal irritation and rebound pulmonary HTN with even brief pauses in administration.

Learning Objectives:

  • After attendance, participants will be able to have a broader knowledge base of inhaled prosotocyclins.
  • After attendance, participants will be able to understand the importance of the continued therapy and understand the risk of severe deterioration if inhaled prosotocyclins are discontinued.
  • After attendance, participants will be able to start discussions at their respective programs if the therapies aren't currently adopted with accessible protocols to submit to medical direction.
