Originally from Louisville, KY, John has called Western North Carolina home for 20 years. After graduating from Appalachian State, he worked in education primarily on high school level in both traditional and non-traditional environments. He has spent the last 17 years working his way up the ranks of Emergency Medicine. Today, he serves as Business Development Coordinator and Critical Care Flight Paramedic for the Mountain Area Medical Airlift (MAMA) in Asheville, NC. Throughout his entire career, his focus has always been on raising the bar in EMS education and he has been lucky enough to present to audiences large and small throughout North Carolina and beyond. John is deeply passionate about changing the traditional dynamics of teaching and making the classroom a new and different experience.
