Originally hailing from Wayne, NJ, Dr. Garrett Cavaliere possesses a lifelong passion for EMS and emergency medicine. Dr. Cavaliere started his career as an EMT while in high school and has experience as a firefighter/Paramedic lieutenant with the Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department, assistant medical director for University of Maryland ExpressCare critical care transport, resident medical director for the Baltimore City Fire Department as well as the assistant medical director for the largest EMS agency in the state of New Jersey (RWJ Barnabas Mobile Health EMS). He is currently an assistant professor of emergency medicine at Penn State Health Milton S Hershey Medical Center, EMS fellowship core faculty as well as the medical director of Life Lion Critical Care Transport. Notable highlights include developing patient care guidelines for newly passed advanced life support reform legislation, leading transcontinental critical care transport missions, national disaster relief deployment and revamping the care delivery and training for Life Lion Critical Care. He has published numerous manuscripts with a prehospital and disaster medicine focus including threat assessment, responses to terrorist attacks, and prehospital resuscitation. His hobbies include aviation, traveling, hiking and exploring local wineries and breweries with his wife Sarah and their rescue dogs Vanco and Tony.
