Michael Frakes is the Chief Quality Officer and the Vice President of Clinical Services for Boston MedFlight. A Nebraska native, he began his EMS career in Kansas, completing an AAS degree in Emergency Medical Services from the Johnson County (KS) Community College, the diploma for which still hangs on his office wall. Michael’s transport and medical experience includes positions as an EMT, Paramedic, Flight Communications Specialist, ED and ICU nurse, and transport nurse. He is a past-President of the Air & Surface Transport Nurses Association and an editor of the Principles and Practice of Transport Medicine textbook. Michael also has a degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of Kansas, the home of college basketball, and is a Certified Barbeque Judge.
