As a Transport Physician, I work in a team with Communications Specialists, Air Medical Crew, and Pilots to coordinate and support STARS Critical Care missions in Southern Alberta. STARS (Shock Trauma Air Rescue Service) is a non-profit HEMS organization with 6 bases across Western Canada and provides critical care transport services for patients in 4 provinces. Prior to joining STARS, I completed specialty training in Emergency Medicine at the University of Alberta and currently work as an Emergency Physician at both a Level I Trauma Centre and community ED in Calgary. Like your average stereotypical emerg doc I occupy my non-work time biking (road and mountain) and backcountry skiing.
