Angel One Transport
Michael H Stroud, MD, is Professor of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). He is the Pediatric Medical Director for the Angel One Transport Team at Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH), one of the busiest rotor-wing transport programs in the country. He is actively involved in teaching, research and clinical care. He has secured funding for pediatric transport medicine research totaling 9 grants and over $500,000.
Dr. Stroud received his BA in Chemistry from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and his MD from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine. He completed a pediatric residency at the University of Oklahoma and pediatric critical care medicine fellowship at UAMS/ACH.
Dr. Stroud’s academic and research interests include pediatric critical care medicine, transport medicine, sepsis and septic shock, and extracorporeal life support. He has 22 peer-reviewed publications related to those subjects, as well as many book chapters, national/international presentations, and abstract presentations at medical conferences. He has served on the Executive Committee of the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Transport Medicine (AAP SOTM) since 2014 and currently serves as chair of the AAP SOTM. He is a member of the Society for Pediatric Research (SPR), the prestigious American Pediatric Society (APS), and the Society of Critical Care Medicine. He received the SPR Clinical Research Award in 2007, and the AAP SOTM C. Robert Chambliss Research Award in 2008 and 2013.
